The 5.1 kg platter is precision-turned from a single piece of aluminum and dampened on the inside with a ring of TPE*. An inverted platter bearing with ceramic surfaces ensures absolutely precise and controlled rotation, while magnetic support using repelling neodymium magnets relieves the bearing of a large portion of the platter's weight, significantly improving its smooth operation.

The chassis is made of solid MDF. It stands on height-adjustable, TPE-dampened aluminum feet. This allows for perfect leveling on any surface and optimal decoupling from it.

The Pro-Ject X8 is also available as a SuperPack.
