Transparency, resolution, and speed

The LCD-5 sets new standards for precision. Its drivers are equipped with our award-winning Fluxor magnets and updated Fazor waveguides, along with our new, patent-pending Parallel Uniforce™ voice coils, which use parallel traces of varying widths to maintain low impedance and provide greater voltage headroom by altering the current density within each trace. The uniform force distribution generated by this optimization reduces distortion and offers better control over diaphragm movement, resulting in improved sonic resolution.

Precision and spatial imaging

We have optimized every acoustic aspect of the LCD-5 headphone to achieve pinpoint imaging and an extremely clean and clear soundstage. The newly sculpted ear pads and acoustically transparent fabric were designed to minimize reflections and resonances, while the Uniforce™ voice coil offers more space between the magnets for improved frequency response and a more open soundstage. The LCD-5 also features newly designed low-profile Fazor waveguides, which further reduce diffraction and interactions with the ear.

Elegant and comfortable design

Weighing in at just 420 grams, the LCD-5 offers hours of listening enjoyment. Every component has been re-engineered, using materials such as magnesium, aluminum, and acetate to ensure low weight and high rigidity. Supple premium leather and carbon fiber combine all elements into a package of the finest craftsmanship, which we assemble by hand at our workshop in California. The LCD-5 comes with acoustically redesigned leather ear pads, an improved and luxurious carbon fiber headband, deep "tortoiseshell" acetate rings, an all-new magnesium housing, as well as our latest premium audio cable and an aluminum travel case.
