To further improve mono performance, the cartridge is equipped with a 0.65 mil conical stylus, which is perfect for tracking the constant width and depth of mono record grooves. Our newly developed suspension mechanism uses piano wire for even better tracking accuracy and slightly lowers the dynamic compliance to achieve a more powerful sound, particularly in the low-to-mid range.

The cartridge’s composite body of die-cast zinc, aluminum, and high-strength polymer reduces and disperses resonance throughout the body, resulting in a balanced, natural sound reproduction that does not favor any specific frequencies. PCOCC (Pure Copper by Ohno Continuous Casting) coils ensure pure, uniform signal transmission, while the samarium cobalt magnet and pure iron yoke (shaped for optimal monaural sound reproduction) provide highly efficient energy generation and a warm, rich performance that is especially well-suited for mid-20th-century mono jazz recordings.

Like all cartridges in the AT33x series, the body of the AT33xMONO/II features threaded holes for easy installation (only two screws required). These threaded holes are particularly useful when mounting the cartridge to an integrated tonearm.
