Like all components in the AVM 30.3 series, the MA 30.3 MK 2 mono power amplifiers draw inspiration from a legendary predecessor: the M3. The original M3 Class A/AB mono power amplifiers are still considered one of the sonic highlights in amplifier construction worldwide. It all began in the mid-eighties with developments that ultimately led to the M1 and the founding of AVM in 1986. The M3 then replaced the M1 in the early nineties and was built in various evolutionary stages until 2011. To this day, these sonically excellent power amplifiers are the most produced mono power amplifiers from AVM. The MA 30.3 MK 2 now represents the 14th generation of these famous AVM amplifiers, incorporating all the experience gained since 1986 into this evolution.

The MA 30.3 MK 2 also takes up a great sonic legacy. The M3 provided the template for its modern descendant, the MA 30.3 MK 2. Essential features, such as the layout of the MOS-FET power stages around the colossal main transformer, have been retained and supplemented with modern features like intelligent remote power-on. Furthermore, extensive innovations in circuit design from the award-winning high-end AVM power amplifiers in the OVATION series have been incorporated into the MA 30.3 MK 2. These innovations are made possible by the use of state-of-the-art components, similar to those found in our flagship power amplifiers, the SA & MA 8.3. All in all, this has resulted in new, ultra-modern mono power amplifiers that perform at the highest sonic level.

All functions of the MA 30.3 MK 2 are automated (protection circuitry, etc.). In addition, comprehensive settings are available to select the power-on modes (automatic, trigger, permanent on). With the AIR (AVM Intelligent Remote) function, the power amplifiers can be easily switched on and off by current AVM preamplifiers (e.g., PA 30.3, PA 8.3, etc.) without the need for a separate trigger cable. The required control signal is simply transmitted via the RCA or XLR cable.

The perfectly crafted housing made of lacquered sheet steel provides a stable base to securely support the massive main transformers and sensitive electronics. The brushed aluminum front draws inspiration from both current devices in the EVOLUTION series and the original AVM monos. Standard housing versions are silver and black.

The new AVM 30.3 series debuted in autumn 2020. Like all AVM devices, the MA 30.3 MK 2 was developed entirely at AVM’s boutique manufacturing facility in Malsch, Baden, to adapt the latest circuit methods from the award-winning components of the OVATION and EVOLUTION series for the AVM 30.3 series. Repeated, intensive quality controls during all production steps and a multi-day burn-in period for each individual device secure AVM’s long-term promise of highest reliability.
