DA 5 digital-to-analog converter from C.E.C.

High-end from Japan as the perfect complement to the TL 5 CD transport, which features a patented belt drive. A brilliant combination that makes CDs sound virtually "analog" at the highest level.

Thanks to its high-performance ES9018K2M chip from ESS and the expertise of C.E.C.'s Japanese sound engineers, the DA 5 sounds very analog, musical, detailed, and neutral in the best sense of the word—meaning the incoming music signal is transmitted and delivered to the ear in the best possible way. C.E.C. is one of the most renowned Japanese hi-fi manufacturers, and has been for nearly 70 years.

In addition to its USB input, the DAC features an excellent-sounding 6.35 mm headphone jack. The sound profile can be varied thanks to two selectable filters: "Flat" sounds a bit punchier and more dynamic, while "Pulse" is somewhat smoother but more detailed.

The built-in D/A converter enables a resolution of up to 32 bits and a sampling rate of 384 kilohertz or a quad-rate DSD data stream (DSD256) via the USB input. The other digital inputs—AES/EBU, S/PDIF, and coaxial RCA—process data up to 24-bit/192 kHz.

Digital inputs: AES/EBU, coaxial, optical (Toslink), each up to 24-bit/192 kHz; USB 2.0 (up to 32-bit/384 kHz, DSD256).
