Thanks to its patented double belt drive in combination with an audiophile ESS converter chip from the new SABRE PRO series, the new CD 2N delivers an extremely audiophile performance at a previously unimagined level of sound quality; extremely "analog" due to its audibly relaxed smoothness, musical, authentic, rich in detail, and neutral in the best sense of the word. A masterpiece, conceived and produced by C.E.C. engineers and staff in Japan. C.E.C. is considered one of the oldest and most renowned Japanese HiFi manufacturers – and has been for over 70 years now.

The built-in D/A converter performs at the highest level, and the CD 2N offers the option of a WordClock input to further audibly refine the digital signals using a clock generator. Thanks to two selectable filters, the sound image can be varied; "Flat" sounds a bit punchier and more dynamic, "Pulse" a bit smoother but more detailed. In addition, there is the option to upsample the native CD signal from 16 bit / 44.1 kHz to 24 bit / 88.2 kHz or 176.4 kHz, depending on personal listening preferences.
