In 2016, six years after the introduction of the Cardas CLEAR with its patented design according to US Patent Number 7,674,973, George Cardas took the next step with the CLEAR Beyond Interconnect. Compared to the highly acclaimed CLEAR, it features an even more complex construction and uses four multi-layer stranded and cross-connected inner conductors, which are held stably in place within a complex arrangement of air-filled PTFE tubes. Each of the four inner conductors runs around its own Kevlar core. Two additional ground cables run in their own insulation layer—spaced at intervals defined by the golden ratio relative to the inner conductors—and are used as the ground line in XLR configurations. Two further layers of shielding are placed over these, separated by air-filled PTFE tubes whose proportions also correspond to the golden ratio. The cable is held in shape by carbon-impregnated tapes and uses a flexible Alcryn jacket.

In terms of sound, it results in an even significantly larger presentation of the spatial soundstage compared to the already excellent CLEAR, with improved high-frequency imaging and depth. This is due to the further optimized ratio of signal transmission to charge transmission within the cable. As with other Cardas cables, its brilliant presence and grace are not achieved at the expense of an emphasized high-frequency range.

Termination Options:

The cable is available balanced with a special version of the Cardas CG-XLR plug or unbalanced with Cardas SRCA plugs featuring a combined housing for extra-large cable diameters. Both the cable and connectors are "Made in USA." The cable is terminated by hand in Bandon, Oregon (USA). The CLEAR Beyond requires several hours to manufacture, and only "terminators" with several years of experience even attempt this task.
