The CLEAR Cygnus Power is the smallest cable in the Cardas hierarchy to utilize the new CLEAR technology for power cables as well. Like all Cardas cables, it relies on enameled, high-purity copper litz wires that are also extra-tinned. It consists of three twisted cable strands held in place by air tubes and surrounded by a PTFE tape. The construction is double-shielded, and each conductor trace at the input is protected against RF interference. The overall construction is very flexible and can be easily wrapped around a hand.

The CLEAR Cygnus power cable is a good tonal match for the other cables in the Cygnus series. Music emerges from a deep black background with three-dimensional vocal imaging and treble that is pleasantly embedded in the overall context. The soundstage is well-spread in both depth and width. Cardas specifically recommends the CLEAR Cygnus for source devices and smaller amplifiers.

Termination options:

The CLEAR Cygnus Power comes standard with Cardas power plugs. These feature pure copper contacts that are silver-plated and then rhodium-plated. Type 3455RS Schuko plugs and Type 3455R IEC connectors are supplied as standard. For highly power-hungry electronics, a 20A connector (Type C19) can be supplied upon request. Such a connector is used, for example, on certain devices from manufacturers like Audia Flight, Jeff Rowland, and T+A. Owners of very slim components with overhanging chassis, such as current Devialet, LINN, or Micromega units, can order a Furutech FI-C15 NCF IEC connector with a particularly compact design as a special order.

American power plugs for the input side are also available upon request.
