Tube Phono Stage – for vinyl fans
For discerning vinyl fans, Cayin developed the CS-6PH tube phono preamplifier, which offers two phono inputs for high-quality MM and MC cartridges. This allows for the connection of multi-tonearm turntables with two different cartridges or two turntables, each using an MM or MC system. The inputs can be selected via the solid aluminum front panel.

Selected lineup of tubes

In the CS-6PH, two 6922 tubes from Electro Harmonix are responsible for MC amplification, while two ECC83 tubes from JJ Electronics are used for MM amplification with high-precision RIAA equalization. Two 12AT7 tubes handle the output stage. Two RCA 22DE4 tubes are used for voltage rectification, minimizing residual ripple.

Tailor-made gain:

A three-stage LOW/MED/HIGH gain switch is located on the front of the Cayin CS-6PH, available in black or silver. Here, the gain can be boosted from 40 dB to 57 dB, 61 dB, or 65 dB. Normally, the 40 dB setting is intended for moving magnet cartridges, and the 57 dB, 61 dB, and 65 dB gain settings are for moving coil cartridges.

Adjustable input impedance and capacitance:

The CS-6PH comes factory-set to 40 dB and 47 kOhm/47 pF for MM. With the CAP switch on the front, users can adjust the MM input capacitance to 47 pF or 100 pF. The MC input impedance can be adjusted to the needs of any cartridge using the impedance selector switch: 47 Ohm, 100 Ohm, 200 Ohm, 470 Ohm, and 1000 Ohm. A low-pass filter, which prevents high woofer excursion caused by low frequencies from warped records, can be activated via the Rumble switch.

Versatile outputs:

The Cayin CS-6PH offers both a balanced and an unbalanced analog output, to which a wide variety of amplifiers can be connected.

Elaborate power supply:

With more than 25 years of experience in designing tube amplifiers, Cayin has always developed its own transformers. For the CS-6PH, the engineers designed an EI power transformer for the power supply. In combination with low- noise voltage regulation, the CS-6PH guarantees pure, low-interference, and stable amplification.

Handcrafted precision:

Each CS-6PH phono preamplifier is assembled by hand at Cayin by highly qualified technicians. A final multi-stage quality and listening test not only checks every function but also ensures that the sound meets the reference standard.

High-quality components:

The Cayin CS-6PH utilizes audio-grade capacitors and carbon film resistors, a large-dimensioned EI transformer for the power supply, ceramic tube sockets, and high-end relays.

Simple operation:

All setting options of the CS-6PH can be made via switches on the front panel to provide the customer with easy operation and selection. The Cayin CS-6PH remembers the last settings after being switched off. When the device is turned on, it adopts these again.

A safe bet:

To operate the amplifier safely, Cayin implemented a soft-start circuit. After the 60-second warm-up phase, the CS-6PH operates in a stable and optimal state. An aesthetically attractive, easy-to-install tube cover is included.
