The Cayin HA-3A tube headphone amplifier impresses with its carefully selected components and extensive features.

The chassis and the three transformer housings undergo 14 elaborate production steps. The result is an extremely high-quality finish, reflected in the paintwork's fine texture and deep, glossy surface.

Another highlight of the build: all components are elaborately hand-wired using point-to-point construction.

Two 12AU7/ECC82 driver tubes, which amplify the voltage level of the incoming audio signal, enable the 6V6S output tubes to operate with a very linear level.

The 22DE4 rectifier tube minimizes interference during conversion to direct current and supplies the amplifier circuit with clean power.

Two 6V6S output tubes drive a pair of custom-developed output transformers that support both single-ended and balanced headphone outputs. The secondary winding of the output transformers provides an alternative phase, thus forming a true balanced output.

Power is supplied by our custom-developed premium toroidal power transformer.

The headphone impedance is adjustable in three stages, offering suitable sensitivity for all headphones:

L: 8Ω~64Ω

M: 65Ω~250Ω

H: 251Ω~600Ω

For trouble-free connection of all standard headphone cables, we have equipped the HA-3A with three headphone output connectors:

• 6.35mm single-ended

• 4.4mm balanced – optimized for high-sensitivity headphones and a

• 4-pin XLR balanced jack

To ensure the signal reaches the headphones 100%, a high-quality ALPS potentiometer handles the volume control.
