Android-based digital music streamer for desktop use. The iDAP-8 plays music files from Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, hard drives, USB, and SD cards, and is capable of more than an ordinary streamer. It is not just a music server or streamer, but also a modern computer solution for your music collection that sounds great, too.

This player, based on Android 9 and featuring the Google Play Store, is equipped with a powerful Snapdragon 660 CPU. Some apps are pre-installed, and others can be easily added. The iDAP-8 supports intelligent UX with an FPGA that generates an unadulterated I²S signal, which is then routed to the digital outputs via HDMI and AES/EBU.

The iDAP-8 is the perfect complement to our iDAC-8 D/A converter and iHA-8 headphone amplifier. The entire internal 128 GB of music storage on the iDAP-8, the native Android streaming apps for Apple Music and Tidal streaming in Hi-Res Lossless quality, as well as network-based NAS audio applications can be controlled via HiByCast and HiByLink from HiBy Music.

At the same time, the iDAP-8 is incredibly easy to use. Music streaming has never been this much fun, and it has rarely sounded so good. This is due in part to the fact that the iDAP-8 is equipped with very high-quality components. For example, an oversized 45-watt toroidal transformer, which forms the heart of the carefully selected components and creates the foundation for the best music streaming.

Play your music via Wi-Fi, Ethernet, Bluetooth, USB, SD card, or the 2.5-inch SATA hard drive slot designed for an optional 4 TB hard drive. All inputs have been optimally shielded so that the iDAP-8's signal path is not disturbed.

The small DAC receives your streams, including Apple Music and Tidal feeds, which are protected by Direct Transport Audio, thus preventing resampling by Android. With HiByCast screen mirroring, you can conveniently control the inputs and outputs of the iDAP-8 from your couch using your Android or iOS device.

Cayin's FPGA chip then processes the data and, with the help of two Accusilicon oscillators that provide bit, master, and word clock references, outputs unadulterated I²S data. This is then passed via HDMI to the I²S output, which is compatible with the pinout standards of our CS-100DAC, iDAC-6, iDAC-8, Matrix Audio, Denafrips, and Wyred 4 Sound, among others. Alternatively, transmission can take place with typical S/PDIF reliability in the form of the 110-ohm AES/EBU output or via a 75-ohm BNC as well as an RCA connection.

Cayin's high-quality hardware combined with the flexibility and simplicity of Android delivers an audiophile delight with the iDAP-8 and offers the user a complete solution for a multitude of digital devices.
