Single-ended amplifiers with triodes enjoy a delicate reputation among tube enthusiasts: they are known for the finest sound nuances just as much as for deficits in power and stability. The Cayin Jazz 100 now clears this up: it offers a genuine single-ended circuit with a single 805A power tube per channel and yet delivers a fabulous 35 watts of power in Class A operation. This makes the dream of a single-ended triode come true even for owners of conventional loudspeakers!

The combination of the finest tube sound and powerful dynamics is achieved by Cayin thanks to the 805A power tube. Triodes are considered by connoisseurs to be the most purist design anyway; in the Jazz 100, only one of these directly heated tubes works per channel in genuine single-ended Class A operation. This design, in which the most delicate music signals are amplified without crossover distortion in the middle of the linear tube characteristic curve, guarantees incomparable sound purity with the finest transparency. The high-quality glass bulbs are manufactured by Psvane and selected in-house at Cayin for maximum channel equality.

The output transformers, which are just as crucial for the sound, were developed specifically for the Jazz 100 circuit and guarantee unusually good load stability for single-ended amplifiers as well as compatibility with various, including off-the-shelf, loudspeakers. The astonishing power output of up to two times 35 watts RMS also contributes to this.

The Cayin Jazz 100 proves that classic tube circuitry and flexible application possibilities are not mutually exclusive. Various analog sources can be connected to the three classic RCA inputs, which can be easily selected with the included remote control. The solid IR transmitter also offers volume control from the listening position and a mute function.

In addition, a Bluetooth receiver is built into the Jazz 100 for direct wireless playback of digital signals. With Bluetooth 5.0 and high-quality codecs such as AAC, aptX HD, and LDAC, high quality is guaranteed even with wireless playback. A full-fledged headphone output on the front panel drives practically all commercially available headphones. VU meters on the front display the current power output of both channels and give the Jazz 100 a timeless, technical look.

Adjustment for sound, impedance, and taste

The Cayin Jazz 100 not only offers a sensationally sounding single-ended power amplifier stage, it can also be adjusted in a unique way to the connected playback partners and the user's preferences. Different taps on the output transformer with separate terminals for 4 or 8 ohms allow for optimal adjustment of voltage reserves, current delivery capability, and damping factor to either high- or low-impedance loudspeakers.
The design of the negative feedback circuit can also be adapted to the connected speakers or the music listener's taste, in that the 805A-type power tubes can operate either with high negative feedback and maximum control or with minimal negative feedback and maximum musicality. The bias for each tube can be optimized with a trimmer; the left pointer instrument serves as a simple display for an optimal setting. An additional control, the so-called "Hum Balancer," minimizes hum in an individual setup to a minimum.

Anyone who wants to further individualize the sound of the Jazz 100 can exchange the 6L6-type driver tubes used for compatible models such as EL34, KT88, or similar.
