• Newly launched CD-Pro 8 drive
• "Blue Tiger" CD-84 servo control
• Jitter-free thanks to I2S interface
• Without D/A converter
• Perfect partner for the Pre Box RS2 Digital

The drive makes the difference

The Pro-Ject CD Box RS2 T features a CD-Pro 8 drive with the "Blue Tiger" CD 84 servo control from StreamUnlimited, which was specifically designed solely for playing CDs according to the Red Book standard. The Pro-Ject CD Box RS2 T is the first CD player ever to use this re-released CD-Pro 8 drive. In the Pro-Ject CD Box RS2 T, the transfer of audio data from the CD drive to an external converter can take place via an I2S interface in addition to the standard digital outputs (optical, coaxial, and balanced). In the I2S bus, audio data and the clock signal are processed separately. Transmission to the D/A converter is via an HDMI cable. Compared to data transmission using a standard digital cable and subsequent conventional digital signal processing, this results in significantly lower jitter (phase instability) in the audio signal.

The optimal and logical partners for the Pro-Ject CD Box RS2 T are the Pro-Ject Pre Box RS2 Digital preamplifier with its integrated D/A converter and the Pro-Ject DAC Box RS2 reference D/A converter – ideally, the devices are connected to each other via the I2S interface. This guarantees nearly jitter-free data transmission between the transport and the D/A converter.

A hot tip for even better sound is the external linear power supply, the Pro-Ject Power Box RS Uni 1-way. Its copper foil shielding around the primary winding of the toroidal transformer reliably shields the connected device from interference components from the power grid. A high-performance toroidal transformer guarantees high current delivery capability. Very practical: once the connected device is switched on, it can be conveniently turned on and off with a single operation on the Pro-Ject Power Box RS Uni 1-way.

Note: The Pro-Ject CD Box RS2 T is a dedicated drive without a D/A converter. An external D/A converter is required for operation. In addition, all Pro-Ject CD Boxes play only CDs according to the official Red Book standard.
