Chord Company SignatureX Tuned ARAY has been hand-built in the UK since 1998 and is a staple of our range. Performance is consistently high, thanks to an ever-evolving design that incorporates the latest technological improvements to stay at the cutting edge. Previous upgrades have included improved shielding, various ARAY conductor configurations, and ChorAlloy™-plated connectors.

Thanks to advances in insulation materials, the latest version has been transformed by XLPE (cross-linked polyethylene), an insulator that is already delivering outstanding results and receiving widespread acclaim for SignatureXL speaker and SignatureX power cables.

In many balanced XLR cables, the two signal conductors are used to carry the hot (in-phase) and cold (out-of-phase) signals, while the earth/return connection is made with the shielding.

We believe there is a better way, so we add a third identical conductor to carry the earth/return signal. This takes the shielding out of the circuit and allows us to significantly reduce unwanted interference. All of our analogue XLR cables are built this way.

By using separate shielding for all three conductors and the Tuned ARAY conductor geometry, we have been able to create a neutral and musically transparent XLR cable.
