The new ULTIMA 5 is equipped with our latest-generation ULTIMA circuit topology and is well on its way to becoming a future classic. The ULTIMA 5 builds on the inherent strengths of the SPM 1200 MK II and takes performance to the next level. By implementing our advanced dual-feed-forward error-correction topology, which incorporates our own advanced ultra-high-frequency power supply concepts, we have been able to deliver extremely fast and powerful performance with an exceptionally high peak output current (the speed at which dynamic peaks can be delivered), resulting in astonishing dynamics, timing accuracy, and consequently, unparalleled musicality.

Together with our low-distortion amplifier circuitry featuring our proprietary lateral-structure dual-die MOSFETs, the ULTIMA 5 is capable of driving speakers with effortlessness, clarity, and precision. The ULTIMA 5 features an incredible 32 proprietary MOSFET power devices that require the most advanced and refined drive circuitry, which is free from sound-degrading components.

The precision-machined, CNC-milled fascia, crafted from aircraft-grade aluminum and featuring John Franks’ latest aesthetic, boasts a reassuringly solid 28mm thick front panel, which is complemented by a recessed, spherical polycarbonate power button that illuminates for standby and operation; a discreet, hidden front-panel switch located in the vertical split line enables dimmable lighting.

The rear of the amplifier features both balanced and unbalanced connections, high-quality loudspeaker terminals, a 12V trigger, and a C-19-type IEC.
