The Balance Reference Phono is consistently designed as a dual-mono phono preamplifier. This means that two completely separate amplifier channels are integrated – ideal for connecting two different cartridges simultaneously and using them without having to unplug cables.

This construction not only provides flexibility but also sonic benefits: thanks to strict channel separation, crosstalk is minimized and spatial imaging is significantly improved.

Another key feature is the free choice between balanced (XLR) and unbalanced (RCA) connections, for both inputs and outputs. This allows the preamplifier to be optimally integrated into a wide variety of high-end systems.

The adaptability to cartridges is exceptionally extensive: impedance, capacitance, and gain can be adjusted so that both MM and MC systems can be operated ideally. At the same time, operation remains convenient – many functions, including volume and input selection, can be controlled via remote control.

The power supply unit is intentionally housed externally and designed as a dual-mono power supply in order to minimize interference and maximize signal purity.

In terms of sound, the Balance Reference Phono is described as very balanced, dynamic, and spacious. Particularly notable is its ability to present complex musical structures clearly while making the finest details audible.
