The Clearaudio Concept MC is a moving-coil (MC) cartridge from the entry-level high-end segment, specifically designed for the popular Concept turntable. The goal of this system is to make MC technology accessible at a comparatively affordable price without sacrificing typical high-end qualities.

In contrast to MM systems (such as the Virtuoso or Maestro), the Concept MC operates with a moving-coil technique, which provides a significantly finer signal resolution. As a result, the playback often sounds airier, more detailed, and spatially more precise. Particularly striking is the wide and stable soundstage as well as the very good micro-dynamics.

Technically, Clearaudio utilizes a boron cantilever in combination with a micro-line diamond stylus. This combination enables very precise tracking of the groove and significantly reduces distortion – especially during complex musical passages.

The system delivers a rather low output voltage (typical for MC), which is why a suitable MC phono stage or a transformer is required. In return, you receive significantly higher detail resolution and an overall "finer" sound profile than with many MM systems.
