The Clearaudio Performer V2 is a high-quality moving magnet (MM) cartridge positioned in the upper entry-level to mid-range high-end segment. It is primarily valued for its very clean resolution, good dynamics, and warm, natural sound signature.

The cartridge body is made of ebony, which not only looks elegant but also contributes to resonance damping. As a result, the cartridge sounds composed and controlled, yet highly detailed. Compared to simpler MM systems, the Performer V2 offers greater spaciousness and lower distortion, particularly toward the inner grooves of the record.

It pairs well with many common tonearms and is often an upgrade for better entry-level turntables or solid mid-range setups.
