The Clearaudio Terra grounding box is a specialized accessory for grounding and noise reduction in hi-fi systems from the German manufacturer Clearaudio. It was developed to specifically minimize ground loops and electromagnetic interference in audiophile systems, thereby enabling cleaner, quieter music reproduction.

At its core, the Terra functions as a central grounding point for multiple devices in a hi-fi chain. Instead of each device being grounded individually or uncontrollably, all ground connections are brought together in a star configuration within the box. This significantly reduces typical issues such as hum, ground loops, or high-frequency interference.

The housing is constructed with special material (including a sand filling) to dampen both mechanical vibrations and electromagnetic influences. In addition, the internal structure with separate grounding paths ensures that flexible adjustments are possible depending on the setup.

The Terra is integrated between the system and the grounding point and can be used for turntables as well as amplifiers, phono stages, or other hi-fi components. Especially in high-end vinyl systems, it can help to achieve an audibly quieter background and greater detail resolution.
