The Clearaudio Tracer is a high-quality radial tonearm in the premium high-end class, representing a consistent further development of classic gimbal tonearm designs. Despite its minimalist design, it contains sophisticated precision mechanics engineered for maximum accuracy and sonic performance.

At its core is an extremely precise bearing construction featuring horizontal sapphire bearings and vertical ball bearings, combined with an angled tungsten axle. This combination ensures near-frictionless yet highly stable guidance of the tonearm. The result is precise tracking with high fidelity and excellent channel separation.

The tonearm tube is made of carbon fiber, combining high rigidity with low weight. This achieves an optimal balance between stability and agility while effectively reducing unwanted resonances.

Operation is designed for practical use:
Anti-skating is controlled via an easily accessible adjustment dial, the azimuth can be finely adjusted at the headshell, and the underslung counterweight ensures an optimal center of gravity as well as precise tracking force adjustment.

In terms of sound, the Tracer combines the best of both worlds:
It offers the stability and control of a gimbal arm, while achieving significantly higher fine resolution and airiness than simpler models. The playback is dynamic, precise, and at the same time very transparent, with clean spatial imaging and high detail accuracy.
