The Clearaudio TT2 is a high-precision, high-end tangential tonearm and one of the most sophisticated linear tracking systems in the Clearaudio portfolio. Unlike conventional radial tonearms, the TT2 follows the record groove in a completely linear fashion, virtually eliminating tracking error and ensuring that playback corresponds exactly to the geometry of the original cutting stylus.

The design is based on a solid, extremely mechanically stable structure weighing around two kilograms. The tonearm moves along a polished glass tube on a high-precision, dry-running ball bearing system. This combination ensures near-frictionless guidance while providing maximum stability and smooth operation.

The TT2 operates entirely passively – movement is generated solely by the stylus tracking force. This eliminates the need for any mechanical drive, and common sources of error such as anti-skating are not required. The height adjustment allows for precise adaptation to different cartridges and record thicknesses.

In terms of sound, the TT2 offers an exceptionally low-distortion, highly stable, and high-resolution reproduction. It demonstrates its strengths particularly in the inner grooves, as the typical geometric distortions of radial tonearms are completely avoided.
