Its Class AB circuitry effortlessly delivers 2 x 40 watts to the gold-plated speaker terminals, giving its owner great freedom in choosing a suitable loudspeaker. There is also flexibility on the source side: vinyl enthusiasts can install a separate phono board or order the Cayin CS-55A with this option right from the start. Those who wish to use their computer as a source can entrust the versatile integrated amplifier with the conversion of digital audio signals at up to 32bit/384kHz via USB 2.0. This combination of a high-end sound card and classic tube charm can also be customized. The output stage can be switched between triode and ultra-linear operation, and another switch allows the use of EL34 or KT88 tubes. On top of that, there is an external bias adjustment with a display meter.

An MM phono input is available from the factory for a modest surcharge. This way, everyone can listen according to their own taste – even with headphones if desired; a large jack socket for this purpose can be found on the solid aluminum front panel. Selected components, such as the encapsulated Alps potentiometer or ceramic tube sockets, round off this harmonious overall package.

Our CS-55CD CD player is the perfect companion for the CS-55A, and not just in terms of appearance. The front panel, which matches the tube amplifier in both design and dimensions, is available in silver or black.
