Tube amplifier test Audio 01/07:

… the sound is truly magnificent. Above all, the refined switching between "ultralinear" and triode mode is fascinating.

The successor to the popular Cayin A-88TMK2 Selection now features an MM phono input. There have also been other developments behind the 42 cm wide aluminum front panel, which makes the tube amplifier the perfect partner for the also-new Cayin CS-100CD. Its larger power supply gives it more power and load stability.

The new, especially broadband output transformers also provide even more detail in the sound image. The tube configuration of the Cayin CS-88A makes connoisseurs' hearts beat faster: 2 x 6SL7, 2 x 6SN7, and 4 x KT88 combine to make the hairs on the back of your neck stand up while listening to music. To ensure the performance remains impressive even after years, the Cayin CS-88A can be fine-tuned with its integrated bias meter.
