The well-known, extremely compact DALI MENUET bookshelf speaker has found numerous enthusiastic owners over the years, all of whom appreciate its gigantic sound in relation to its minimal cabinet size.

Now, with the MENUET SE, DALI has launched a special edition of this tiny, successful loudspeaker – with the goal of teasing even more sound quality out of the small cabinet while giving the box an even more refined look and individuality with a new real wood veneer.

The visual appearance of the DALI MENUET SE is breathtaking. The high-gloss polished real wood veneer, called "Wild Walnut," truly lives up to its name: thanks to its extraordinary wood grain, every speaker is an absolute one-of-a-kind. The cabinets are carefully pre-sorted in order to assemble visually harmonizing stereo pairs.

Each individual DALI MENUET SE is carefully assembled and tested by hand by the same DALI technician to ensure the highest possible quality. After the final quality inspection, every speaker is fitted with an individual brass nameplate that also includes the initials of the respective DALI technician.

The MENUET SE works with a 115 mm woofer and a 28 mm soft dome tweeter. More information on both drivers can be found at the link above.

Compared to the regular MENUET, the crossover of the Special Edition is equipped with high-quality Mundorf™ capacitors, which were carefully selected through extensive listening tests. In addition, the crossover circuit boards feature special, extra-high electrical insulation, which minimizes interference between the individual components. Furthermore, the terminals on the back of the speaker come from the high-end DALI EPICON series, which guarantees an optimal connection with any speaker cable.

POSITIONING

For optimal playback quality, you should place the DALI MENUET SE on a shelf or mount it directly to the wall using the bracket available as an accessory. For trouble-free mounting, two threaded inserts are already embedded in the back of each box. The wall bracket is designed so that, on the one hand, there is sufficient distance between the box and the wall to allow the air emitted from the bass reflex port to escape freely, while on the other hand, the DALI MENUET SE is mounted as close to the wall as possible.

Thanks to its compact dimensions and clear design, the DALI MENUET SE can be easily set up anywhere in the house. In addition, the speaker is suitable for complementing all models from the DALI RUBICON series to create a powerful multi-channel system.

SPEAKER DRIVERS

The woofer features a 115 mm (4.5") wood fiber cone and is designed so that the air set in motion by the cone can distribute itself as unimpeded as possible. As a result, and thanks to the enlarged cutout of the woofer in the baffle, the driver harmonizes optimally with the cabinet and impresses with a particularly open and dynamic performance. And because the voice coil former of the MENUET SE is made of glass fiber, mechanical losses in the voice coil movement and distortions are reduced to an absolute minimum.

The reproduction of all frequencies above 3,000 Hz is handled by a tweeter with an extra-large 28 mm soft dome. The material used for this is about 30% lighter than comparable standard domes, which is why the MENUET SE tweeter has an extremely low moving mass. In combination with the powerful neodymium magnet drive, this guarantees fast, detailed, and airy high-frequency reproduction.
