The idea

… was an obvious one. The design of the smaller brother offered the incentive to build a larger turntable based on this foundation. As there are many enthusiasts who wish to operate two tonearms in parallel, we took up this challenge. In doing so, it was not merely meant to be an "upscaling" of the existing concept, but rather to set new standards in addition to the already well-known ease of use.

The mission

… was to continue developing based on the technical foundation of the Woodpecker and to push into new dimensions. Operating two tonearms was one requirement, but in addition, the drive system was to be refined further. For this purpose, we modified the Woodpecker's controller and operate both motors in a type of "master-slave" configuration.

The 180° arrangement relative to each other ensures that the platter is driven tangentially - unilateral pull is impossible, and thus wobbling of the platter is reduced to an absolute minimum.

This is accompanied by a further reduction in rumble noise. The speed stability has been increased even further compared to the Woodpecker.

The result

… is an even greater sense of composure in the soundstage - excellent measured values and a timeless appearance, paired with the simplest handling. For with the Blackbird, we have realized a world-first integrated alignment gauge with which you can adjust your tonearm and cartridge in the simplest way possible. You will be amazed at how easy adjustment can be.

The sound

… composed, dynamic, powerful, and yet neutral. Regardless of which tonearm you use, you can relax and immerse yourself in the fascination of music, because you have the certainty that not even the smallest detail of your black treasures will be withheld from you. Forget all the technology, enjoy music in all its beauty!
