Product description
Product description
The Final Audio A10000 is a flagship in-ear monitor featuring a genuine diamond diaphragm that reduces distortion to a minimum. The stainless steel housing is adorned with the "Côtes de Genève" finish known from watchmaking. Sonic excellence and aesthetic sophistication are combined here into an integral whole.
Collector's edition with gold-colored finish – limited to 300 units worldwide! The collector's edition comes in a special Paulownia box and includes a thinly rolled "Suzumi plate." Although it has a metallic structure, it can be easily folded by hand like origami.
Diamond as an ideal diaphragm material
Diamond possesses a very high speed of sound and enormous rigidity – perfect prerequisites for a speaker diaphragm. Its exceptional flexural rigidity, in particular, was crucial for realizing the "ultra-low distortion" driver we aimed for. Using a laser displacement meter, it can be observed that conventional hard diaphragms deflect in various directions, thereby creating distortion. With diamond, this deflection is extremely small due to its rigidity, effectively suppressing unwanted vibrations of the diaphragm surface.
For this model, we use a "True Diamond" film: diamond is crystallized on a silicon substrate, the silicon is then removed – leaving behind a genuine diamond film.
Newly developed surround
With a density of approx. 3.5 g/cm³, diamond is about twice as dense as beryllium. This posed a risk that conventional surround materials would not be able to keep up with the diaphragm's weight and would "roll away." Furthermore, common surround materials tend to resonate at specific frequencies. We therefore use a special polyurethane that overcomes the disadvantages of conventional PU surrounds – especially rapid aging. The material combines low weight with high elasticity and damps unwanted resonances without restricting the free movement of the diaphragm.
Diaphragm molding without adhesives
Instead of gluing the diaphragm and surround as is customary, we have developed an independent molding process that combines pneumatic and thermal forming. The connection is made at the molecular level without adhesive. In this way, we eliminate batch variations caused by adhesive amounts as well as differences in the bonding area – problems that are hard to avoid with conventional methods.
Redesigned voice coil
To ensure the diaphragm guided by the flexible surround performs a clean piston movement, the structure of the voice coil, usually fixed with adhesive, was redesigned. We use a "coil-in-coil" construction (double-layered wound voice coil) with high conductivity. This prevents weight fluctuations and distortion caused by varying amounts of adhesive.
Result: Ultra-low distortion driver
Through the combination of new materials and manufacturing technologies, the newly developed diamond driver achieves a distortion rate of less than 1/100th that of the conventional model in frequency ranges below 100 Hz.
The drastically reduced distortion and improved amplitude/frequency characteristics in the deep bass lead to unprecedented bass precision. At the same time, mids and highs benefit: transients are reproduced more cleanly, and the mid/high-frequency range appears transparent and rich in detail. The enormous resolving power reveals the finest information, while the clear separation of individual instruments is maintained – regardless of which frequency range you focus on. Since virtually no distortion is audible, the silence between notes feels more intense, and individual tones stand out more clearly.
Solid stainless steel housing with "Côtes de Genève"
The housing is made of high-strength, precision-machined stainless steel. It stabilizes the driver optimally and suppresses unwanted housing vibrations, which sharpens the contours of the reproduction.
For the surface finish, the elaborate, wave-like "Côtes de Genève" precision milling process (known from luxury watchmaking) is used. In addition to the aesthetic effect, the milled structure offers a defined surface geometry that differs significantly from polished surfaces.
Service-friendly design for long-term use
Adhesive is largely avoided during the assembly of the housing and the DU unit. Instead, screw connections are used. This not only facilitates long-term repairs but also increases structural stability through defined screw tension and reduces resonances of each individual assembly.
