Made in France by Focal, the Utopia flagship headphones are the result of over 40 years of acoustic innovation, offering a sensational listening experience. First introduced in 2016, these headphones feature a revised design and acoustic improvements in 2022, delivering an excellent listening experience with even more musical emotion.
Their exclusive high-end technologies, such as the open-back, full-range, pure beryllium "M"-shaped dome drivers, provide an impressively realistic, neutral, dynamic, and transparent sound. Furthermore, Focal’s engineers have developed a copper and aluminum voice coil that offers a new sound signature and high reliability.
A modern design and premium materials complete the listening experience. Comfortable and elegant, the Utopia is crafted from genuine leather, aluminum, forged recycled carbon, honeycomb-pattern grilles, black chrome-finished rings, and many other details that make these Made in France headphones a masterpiece of unique aesthetics and sound quality. Like the symbolic Yin & Yang on the earcups, the Utopia embodies the perfect harmony between attractive design and acoustic performance. It is more than just a pair of headphones; it is an icon of sound.

Exclusive speaker drivers and voice coil
FOCAL TECHNOLOGIES AND EXPERTISE
The Utopia features completely open-back, full-range speaker drivers with a pure beryllium "M"-shaped dome. Focal's engineers have mastered the challenge of replicating the sensations evoked by listening to the best Focal loudspeakers using only headphones! The result: speaker drivers that operate from 5 Hz to over 50 kHz without any active or passive correction. The headphones fade completely into the background; the audio signal transmission is of unparalleled purity.
Focal’s engineers have also developed a voice coil – the heart of a speaker driver alongside the diaphragm – made of copper and aluminum for high reliability and comfortable lightness: an advancement that stands for an innovative sound signature requiring no compromises.

Comfort and premium materials
HIGH-QUALITY DETAILS ROUND OFF THE DESIGN
The Utopia is made from premium, refined materials. The forged recycled carbon yoke creates an elegant aesthetic while providing additional lightness and even weight distribution on the head. The genuine leather headband and perforated memory foam earpads, also leather-clad, offer comfort and softness. Exceptional headphones also require high-quality accessories: the Utopia is supplied with a faux leather case, a thermoformed carrying case, and two hi-fi cables (3 m and 1.5 m) for home use with an amplifier or for mobile use, featuring Lemo® connectors and a jack plug.

High-end design
REVISED DESIGN
The Utopia captivates with a design defined by simplicity and elegance. Adopting the aesthetic codes of Focal's open-back (Clear Mg) and closed-back (Stellia and Celestee) headphones, it features honeycomb-pattern grilles on both the inside and outside of the earcups. In addition to the black chrome rings—now screwed from the inside—it features subtle and sophisticated aesthetic details, such as the red reflections of the speaker driver and the Yin & Yang symbol on the outer shell, representing the perfect balance between design and technology.
