T60RPmk2ai – Tradition meets high-end audio

The new Fostex T60RPmk2ai combines cutting-edge headphone technology with authentic Japanese craftsmanship – making a statement for everyone who wants not just to hear sound, but to experience it. Made in Japan and refined with genuine Awa indigo, the semi-open housing is crafted from solid maple wood, which is dyed over several days of meticulous handiwork. Each layer of "Hon-ai" – a dye derived exclusively from natural indigo – penetrates deep into the wood structure, impressively highlighting the grain. The result is a pair of headphones with an aesthetic as unique as its sound.

4th Generation RP Driver – Studio-grade precision

The latest generation of RP drivers has been further developed to enable even more precise sound reproduction. It contains more magnets enclosing the diaphragm, as well as a newly designed coil pattern. This expands the vibration range of the diaphragm and makes it more uniform. In addition, the magnetic circuit has been optimized so that the magnetic flux is distributed more effectively. This reduces unwanted resonances and ensures clear, precise sound reproduction, especially during dynamic changes. Thanks to these improvements, the new driver offers higher sensitivity, a balanced frequency response for reliable monitoring, and excellent transient characteristics. It enables detailed reproduction from low to high frequencies, improving the localization of sound sources and the spatiality of the sound field.

7N-OFC internal wiring – High-end down to the detail

For internal signal routing, Fostex uses high-purity 7N-OFC copper with a purity of 99.99999 percent – a material otherwise used only in high-end components. This wiring minimizes impurities, maximizes transmission capacity, and ensures particularly clean signal routing. At the same time, it improves compatibility with external cables, which can be connected via the two 3.5 mm jacks on the housings. The included unbalanced cable also uses high-quality OFC conductors, while an optional balanced 4.4 mm cable is available for demanding setups.

Ultrasuede ear pads – Comfort that lasts

The soft, breathable Ultrasuede ear pads come as standard equipment and offer a pleasantly gentle feel against the skin. They ensure a consistent, high-quality sound across the entire frequency spectrum and, in combination with the low-rebound around-ear design, contribute to exceptionally high wearing comfort – even during long listening sessions.
