The Fostex TH909LE is an open-back high-end headphone and represents the exclusive limited-edition version of the Fostex TH909. Technically, it is based on a 50mm driver with the proven Bio-Dyna diaphragm, which, in conjunction with a very strong neodymium magnet system with a flux density of 1.5 Tesla, ensures exceptionally fast and precise signal processing. As a result, the headphones achieve very high detail resolution, great dynamics, and a particularly airy soundstage, which is typical for open-back designs.

The frequency range extends from 5 Hz to 45 kHz, which theoretically covers a very broad spectrum, even if in practice this primarily underscores the technical potential. With an impedance of 25 ohms and a sensitivity of approximately 100 dB, the TH909LE is comparatively easy to drive, but benefits significantly from high-quality audio hardware. The maximum input power is around 1,800 mW, offering sufficient headroom for dynamic peaks.

The housing is made of Japanese cherry birch and finished with traditional Urushi lacquer technique, which not only provides a high-quality appearance but also contributes to the sonic tuning. The headphones weigh about 390 grams without the cable and are equipped with soft, circumaural pads that ensure good wearing comfort. The included cable is made of high-purity, oxygen-free copper (7N OFC), is detachable, and connects via a 2-pin connector system, while the connection itself is made via a gold-plated 6.3mm jack plug.
