ELEGANT AND POWERFUL

The PA-1175 MkII is a Class AB power amplifier with an adjustable damping factor for easy use with a wide range of speakers. It features proprietary Gold Note Optical Bias technology, which delivers high output currents with extremely low distortion.

The Optical Bias device controls the reference voltage of the power stage. Through optical decoupling, the inefficient characteristics of conventional circuits are avoided. To this end, the signal is optically analyzed—completely independently of the actual signal path—resulting in high operational reliability and unbeatable performance data.

For perfect shielding against interference, the PA-1175 has a solid steel chassis clad in heavy aluminum panels and is ventilated via the unmistakable Gold Note design of curved slots. BTL (Bridge-Tied-Load) technology allows the stereo power amplifier to be bridged for mono operation, doubling the already high output power from 200W at 8Ω in stereo to a proud 520W per channel in mono. This increases the flexibility of using a PA-1175 should you ever wish to drive speakers with extreme power demands appropriately and cleanly.

FLEXIBLE TECHNOLOGY

The power supply is controlled by a custom toroidal transformer with a special magnetic iron cut: a sophisticated manufacturing process results in a perfectly stable core with excellent properties and no mechanical vibrations. A small auxiliary transformer powers the secondary functions completely separately from the signal-processing parts of the power amplifier.

A unique feature of the PA-1175 is the adjustable damping factor, which can be easily adjusted from the front panel. With the help of this feature, it is possible to control a wide variety of loads: a factor of 250, for example, for large, difficult-to-drive speakers, and a damping factor of 25 for high-efficiency full-range speakers that one would usually drive with a tube amplifier.
