While the H150 is a full-width amplifier designed to match standard hi-fi components, its depth of just 35 cm makes it easy to place on or in most shelves and media furniture. Available in black and white, the H150 fits into any interior with its clean, understated design. Its robust construction includes a thick, precision-machined aluminum front panel and control knobs, as well as a steel cover with ventilation openings that underscore its compact, modern look. A central OLED display provides a clear readout even from a distance and can be dimmed or turned off completely depending on the environment.

The H150's power rating of 2 x 75 W might seem modest, but do not be fooled by this. This is no ordinary amplifier. The H150 features a special Class AB amplifier design with Hegel's patented SoundEngine 2 technology, which ensures a class-leading damping factor of 2000 and stable operation down to a 2-ohm load. SoundEngine 2 preserves musical details and dynamics with breathtaking clarity, providing an engaging and lifelike listening experience. The H150 is powered by a large, ultra-low-noise toroidal transformer and high-speed capacitors that deliver instantaneous current, giving the H150 the power and punch to drive even the most demanding loudspeakers effortlessly.

Inside the H150 is a powerful, custom-designed four-layer digital-to-analog converter (DAC). Inspired by the renowned Viking CD player, it utilizes our latest digital advancements to extract a rich, highly detailed sound from both connected digital sources and the internal streaming section. The H150 natively supports a variety of streaming options: Spotify Connect, Tidal Connect, Qobuz Connect, Google Cast™, Apple AirPlay, and UPnP are all integrated, offering seamless access to your favorite services. The list is constantly expanding, and automatic firmware updates keep you up to date as soon as new services become available. The H150 is a modern device that is effortlessly ahead of its time.

With the H150, you can easily connect your external digital sources. Two optical inputs (one of which is optimized for TVs), a coaxial input, a USB-B port, and a network port accommodate everything from televisions, streamers, and gaming consoles to laptops and network nodes. You can connect flash memory or an external hard drive via a USB-A socket (and even charge a smartphone or laptop), with the Hegel Control app handling the browsing of your library. A coaxial digital output can pass signals from the digital inputs to active speakers, a second system, or an external DAC in DAC Loop mode, thereby upgrading the digital stage without compromising the functionality of the H150. This is a level of flexibility rarely found in amplifiers of this class.

The H150 is not just excellent for digital sources. On the analog side, nothing is left to chance either. The H150 features an unbalanced analog RCA input and a true electronically balanced XLR analog input. Particularly noteworthy is the H150's high-quality Moving Magnet phono input, which complements any good MM turntable with detail and dynamics typically reserved for dedicated phono preamplifiers. The amplifier also features a good headphone output and a variable line-level output, making it easy to add subwoofers or external power amplifiers.

The H150 is designed to be as user-friendly as possible. Everyone in the household can use the H150 without needing to read the manual. Input sensing on the digital inputs and streaming activates the amplifier and automatically selects the correct source, while the adjustable auto-standby function saves energy once playback has finished. Popular TV remote control codes are pre-installed, allowing you to control volume and power seamlessly with your TV remote. Each input can be set to a high output level, allowing you to control the volume with any connected device, such as your home theater receiver or multi-room streamer. Multi-room is, of course, also offered directly in the amplifier, whether via AirPlay, Google Cast, or Roon, and voice commands via Google Home or Apple Home are just a sentence away. Control is also possible via the elegant aluminum remote or the free Hegel Control app, which offers full input and volume control as well as integrated internet radio and podcasts from airable. The result is an amplifier that makes sophisticated performance accessible to all users.
