The Diamond-Supreme³ fuse holder from HiFi-Tuning is considered the benchmark when it comes to routing power to a hi-fi system from the fuse box to the components with as little loss as possible. The technical effort involved is enormous: conductive paths made of high-purity copper are first silver-plated, then copper-plated again, and finally gold-plated. The entire construction is then deep-frozen in a liquid nitrogen bath – a manufacturing process that pushes the boundaries of what is technically feasible.

Furthermore, HiFi-Tuning pursues another approach that is often prematurely dismissed as esoteric but is recognized in materials science: crystalline structures can influence metallic conductors in their immediate vicinity.

Company founder Bernd Ahne has consistently followed this very idea. While other manufacturers occupy themselves with the sonic effects of quartz or tourmaline, he experimented with high-purity natural diamonds positioned in close proximity to the fuse. The result of his experiments was clear: a real diamond, just a few millimeters away from the metallic end caps of the fuse, provides a more powerful, open sound image as well as a clearly perceptible gain in dynamics.

A brilliant-cut diamond with a diameter of three millimeters is used. It is attached to the fuse holder in such a way that it comes very close to the fuse, but does not make electrical contact. The asymmetrical placement on the front is therefore deliberately chosen and not a manufacturing defect. Experiments with larger diamonds showed a stronger visual effect, but provided no additional sonic benefit over the chosen size.

There is hardly any point in bragging about the sparkling detail in your fuse box – the real gain lies in the listening experience. Music can be enjoyed noticeably more intensely with it.

The fuse holder is designed for Supreme³ fuses in the 10.3 × 38 mm format with a load capacity of up to 32 amps. Before insertion, it is recommended to wipe any fingerprints off the fuse caps with a dry cloth. In residential installations, 16-amp fuses are typically used.
