V5 TITAN
The original Titan set a new standard for high-current power conditioning upon its launch in late 2004 and, along with numerous other international awards, was named Hi-Fi News Power Cleaning Product of the Year in 2005.

The new V5 model offers an additional third output socket as well as a new "System Link" output, allowing multiple IsoTek devices to be connected to a single wall outlet via a star-earth grounding scheme. The legendary Titan Direct Coupled© circuit has been revised; through the use of 50% more copper on the circuit board, and the resulting virtually unlimited power, the ideal of zero ohms has been approached much more closely. This significantly improves current delivery and reduces resistance. The new circuit also offers twice the inductance with 80% higher current conductivity. Surge protection has also been increased to 153,000 A instantaneous and 75,000 A continuous, making it the most robust protection system IsoTek has offered in this product line to date.

IsoTek's iconic Titan high-current cleaning system has been dramatically improved and boldly redesigned. The V5 model is not only visually state-of-the-art, appearing as if hewn from a single block of aluminum, but it also features the latest technical innovations from a leading brand in the specialized field of power supply systems for audio and AV.

The V5 Titan is a dedicated high-current power supply system that delivers absolute, instantaneous power. The unit is 220 mm wide, 350 mm deep, and 147 mm high. It features 3 independent outlets, each with its own dedicated power cleaning network. Thus, the V5 Titan consists of three high-current, low-impedance power and cleaning networks within a single slim chassis. Both differential-mode and common-mode noise are drastically reduced. Cross-contamination of connected components is also kept to a minimum through the use of multiple power-cleaning stages for each output socket. Most power filters connect output sockets together and are wired in series. This is not particularly clever, as the differential-mode noise generated by the connected electronics then overlaps from one output socket to another.

The electrical architecture and design of the V5 Titan have been dramatically improved. The PCB design and topology have been revised and now offer over 50% better current delivery and lower resistance. Unique critical (custom-made) components have better overall tolerances with improved inductance and current handling. The new circuit provides twice the inductance, with current increased by 80%, resulting in a more open soundstage, micro-dynamics, and details with excellent timing. A drastically improved DC resistance (DCR) has been applied throughout the entire design. As part of IsoTek’s goal to reduce DCR to bring performance closer to the zero-ohm ideal, the V5 Titan has been significantly improved compared to its predecessor.

These technological improvements result in the V5 Titan offering even higher performance with unrestricted current delivery within the limits of the power provider and regulations. Generally, IsoTek provides outlets with extremely low impedance and minimal DC resistance for power amplifiers and components with high current requirements. When current is contaminated by noise, dynamic range is reduced. It is much like the song of birds being drowned out by traffic noise. It is not that the bird song is inaudible, but it is masked by unnecessary background noise.

IsoTek's circuit concepts offer greater perceived dynamics. The dynamic range in music is the ratio between the loudest and quietest sound produced, combined with a lowering of the noise floor—or in other words, a dynamic range. To achieve high current and exceptionally low resistance across the entire circuit board, eight times the usual amount of copper is used before silver plating.

Filters for source components with a moderate DCR component are used to support the filter design. This DCR circuit ensures improved separation between connected devices, eliminating the greatest possible amount of differential-mode noise generated by connected equipment.

The V5 design features a 16 A RCBO fusing system for the three high-current output sockets, which deliver 3,680 W at 230 V or 1,840 W at 115 V.

Due to the contact area, this fusing system is a significant improvement over a standard fuse. By necessity of its electrical function, a standard fuse must have a very thin wire, which also applies to expensive audiophile gold-plated versions. The IsoTek fuse system offers at least 1,000 times better contact area and a consistently strong connection.

KERP© (Kirchhoff’s Equal Resistance Path) ensures uniform resistance and identical power delivery for all outputs. The internal wiring meets the highest standard – high-purity, silver-plated Ohno Continuous Cast solid-core copper strands offer low resistance and ensure the transmission of high currents. The conductor is first surrounded by a spiral of fluorinated ethylene propylene (FEP), then protected by an extruded FEP dielectric, creating a virtual air dielectric (FDA).
