By incorporating many key JL Audio technologies, E-Class subwoofers offer exceptional sound quality, plenty of power, and an excellent price-performance ratio for a wide variety of demanding applications.

The e-subwoofer drivers utilize exclusive DMA technology, which optimizes the motor system and ensures linear behavior even at very high excursions. Unlike conventional modeling systems, DMA accounts for the dynamic shifts caused by current flow and back-EMF under realistic power conditions with real music.

The extreme mounting depth of the e-Sub driver was a deliberate design choice. It allows for large spacing between the suspension elements (rubber surround and dual spider), giving the driver exceptional mechanical stability across its entire excursion range. This improves linearity, reduces distortion, and increases long-term reliability. The e-Sub's front mounting flange is made of steel and forms the entire front baffle of the subwoofer, while the rear of the driver is threaded and bolted to the rear wall of the subwoofer enclosure for increased rigidity.

To adequately drive these innovative components, JL Audio developed a completely new switching amplifier with a regulated switching power supply, which allows the enclosure to be more compact, lighter, and more efficient. At the same time, the integrated amp delivers more than enough clean power to fully utilize the driver's potential.

The amplifier is conveniently controlled via the top control panel of the e-Sub enclosure – after all, nobody likes crawling on the floor behind a subwoofer. An attractive cover conceals and protects the controls during normal use.

A sub for all occasions

The JL Audio e110 was designed to enable use in a variety of applications – from home theater systems to two-channel music systems and desktop audio workstations. Analog inputs are provided for unbalanced line-level sources or speaker signals. Dedicated outputs allow for a bi-amped configuration without additional hardware.

The active crossover of the e-Sub is designed as a true two-way, fourth-order Linkwitz-Riley filter with a low-pass function. A high-pass filtered signal can be tapped at the line outputs. When the e110's integrated crossover is bypassed – as is common in many home theater installations – the outputs provide the original input signal, allowing multiple e-Subs to be easily connected in a "daisy-chain" arrangement. Switchable polarity and a fully variable phase control round out the signal processing. All signal processing is performed in the analog domain, which ensures very low latency in critical applications.

All e-Subs are individually power-tested and verified to ensure years of listening enjoyment in stereo systems and home theaters.
