JL Audio Fathom IWS in-wall subwoofer systems are based on the same breakthrough technologies used to develop JL Audio’s standalone powered subwoofers. As a result, they deliver the same remarkable performance—with the huge advantage of remaining virtually invisible in your listening room or home theater.

JL Audio also offers the Fathom IWS-SYS-108 as a dual system, the Fathom IWS-SYS-208. This set includes two enclosures, each with an 8-inch woofer, and one (!) external JL Audio SA-600W subwoofer amplifier—delivering double the power thanks to the parallel connection of the woofers for double the fun. In addition to the amplifier's wired RCA and speaker-level inputs, a JL Audio JLink port (RJ45) is also available. This allows signals to be sent wirelessly from the source device to the amplifier.

The full range of Fathom signal processing features is also on board, including the powerful 18-band Digital Automatic Room Optimization (D.A.R.O.) system. Everything is accessible via an easy-to-use, menu-driven interface and an LCD display.

The subwoofer enclosures have been extensively engineered for maximum rigidity while maintaining a very low profile. The driver grilles are suitable for all standard drywall thicknesses and can be painted to match the wall color.

A unique bass reflex design featuring a slot around the perimeter of the driver mounting enhances efficiency and low-frequency performance. Inside the enclosure is a long-throw 8-inch woofer, developed and manufactured by JL Audio according to its typically exacting standards for Fathom IWS products.

The smaller 8-inch woofer in-wall systems from the Fathom family are somewhat easier to integrate than the larger Fathom IWSv2-SYS-113 and IWSv2-SYS-213.
