Product description

4Point 14 Sapphire Bearing Modification: as of January 1, 2019
As standard, all 4Point tonearms are now supplied with sapphire/ruby bearing cups instead of polished steel cups. This reduces friction and noise levels in the bearings, thereby improving performance.

4P14 (from S/N 310101 and higher) have ALREADY been equipped with sapphire/ruby cups since July 1, 2018.

4Point 14 is a 4Point tonearm with an effective length of 14 inches (353 mm), which is mounted on the turntable at a mounting distance of 12 inches (291 mm). Further information can be found in the manual.
It is possible to use 4Point 14 on the Stabi M and still close the lid when no records are being played – for more information, see Technical Details.

INSTRUCTIONS:

Using the 4Point 14-inch tonearm on a Stabi M turntable with lid.

The 4Point 14-inch tonearm fits on the Stabi M turntable with a 12-inch cutout, but some parts of the tonearm come very close to the edge of the lid. Please follow these instructions when mounting the 4Point 14-inch tonearm and the cartridge.

To mount the tonearm on a Stabi M, you must change the distance from the spindle to the horizontal bearing. The standard distance is 340 mm, and this must be changed to 338 mm so that the closed lid does not touch the tonearm. When the cartridge geometry is adjusted, the protractor automatically compensates for this change. This change in effective length is slight and not significant (just over 1%).

Since the headshell with cartridge comes very close to the front of the lid, especially when the lid is half-closed, close the lid slowly at first and check whether the edge of the lid clears the cartridge. At the same time, ensure that the counterweight at the back of the tonearm does not touch the back or the right side of the lid.

PLEASE NOTE: You cannot play the 4Point 14-inch tonearm on a Stabi M with the lid closed. When closing the lid, the tonearm must be in the arm rest.
