XL DC differs from the earlier Stabi XL, XL2 & XL4 turntables by using a very special DC motor, a machined plastic belt, and a new power supply (PS DC), which gives the platter a new, unique, and consistently precise drive.

The new platter drive takes the performance of this turntable to a new level.

This brass and acrylic clamp provides additional damping and helps minimize vibrations. It also has a positive effect on the record's shape by flattening warped discs.

The record mat consists of a semi-hard combination of rubber and fabric. It is used to fix the record evenly in place, thus ensuring improved sound quality.

The tower is made of solid brass, which provides additional rigidity and offers structural damping for the tonearm. The arm board can be exchanged to mount different tonearms.

The optional VTA tower allows the vertical tracking angle of the tonearm to be precisely adjusted during playback without affecting the rigidity or azimuth of the arm. This is done via a ball bearing, which enables easy and repeatable adjustment of up to 80 mm. The VTA adjustment is extremely precise, with an accuracy of 0.1 mm per turn of the knob and a digital micrometer display for precise measurement in the 12 mm range with an accuracy of 0.01 mm.

The lever on the side of the VTA tower allows for three preset positions: one for standard records, one for thinner records, and one for thicker records (up to 180 g).
