This is a 12-inch version of the Stogi Ref 313 tonearm with a fully adjustable VTA tower mount in the standard 9-inch position. The Stogi Ref 313 VTA tonearm shares the main features of the Stogi Ref and the 4Point tonearm, i.e., precision ball bearings, a conical tube, and a unique VTA tower.

General description:

This is a very rigid, medium-mass tonearm with precision ball bearings (ceramic ball bearings since July 2012) that can withstand very high loads and features extremely low start-up and running friction as well as an extremely low noise floor. The main frame and all other parts are machined from solid blocks of aluminum and brass. Some parts are anodized and others are not, in order to control tonearm resonance. The detachable headshell ensures a stable cartridge mount, while the internally damped tube connects it to the solid bearing parts, where vibrations or noise are dissipated. Most parts are glued together for reasons of rigidity and damping.

Detachable headshell: The electrical connection is made via standard pins, but the headshell can be easily removed by unscrewing it with an Allen key. The headshell is attached using a unique hexagonal locking system and offers great rigidity.

The conical tube made of solid aluminum is internally damped and divided into two parts, which further supports the damping while also allowing for precise azimuth adjustment. A special mechanism (worm drive) with an Allen key allows the tube to be rotated back and forth in minimal increments without any air gap. This mechanism is immersed in silicone grease for further damping. A marker line clearly indicates the azimuth position, facilitating operation while allowing for repeatable adjustments. A decoupled brass counterweight controls the balance and adjusts the tracking force while damping vibrations in the tube. The massive arm base serves to rigidly clamp the tonearm to the armboard. All bearings are preloaded and glued, which not only damps vibrations within them but also ensures long service life, freedom from play, low friction, and a low noise level in the bearings.

VTA tower: The entire construction is mounted on a rigid VTA tower that allows for on-the-fly VTA (vertical tracking angle) adjustment without loss of rigidity, yet with precision down to 0.01 mm without play and with repeatability.

The wiring is continuous – from the cartridge pins to the RCA connectors. Only the highest quality wires are used in these cables. It is also possible to use the tonearm in a balanced (XLR) or 5-pin configuration.
