The problem:

When playing vinyl records, two different types of unintended vibrations can distort the sound image:

Direct vibrations of the record itself, which are generated during the scanning process by the movement of the needle in the groove, reach the cartridge with a time delay due to mechanical reflection at the edge of the record, thereby falsifying the signal.

Indirect vibrations due to airborne sound are caused by sound waves hitting the record and causing the needle to vibrate as a result.

The cartridge picks up all vibrations without being able to distinguish between those desired during playback and the irritating parasitic vibrations. The overlapping of these impulses causes the unpleasant dissonance.

Our solution:

A good turntable mat decouples the record from the surface, thereby neutralizing the vibrations of the drive. Static charges are avoided, and the record lies perfectly and vibration-free on the turntable platter.
