D stands for discreet

All models are designed as built-in speakers for discreet wall or ceiling installation and feature a wall-mounting mechanism with mounting legs. All models are also equipped with their own speaker enclosure, which makes system design and the actual installation as easy as possible, without the need for an aftermarket backbox or a closed wall cavity. This also ensures that the sound performance is always defined and consistent, and less dependent on the wall construction and the available space behind the wall.

High power handling, sensitivity, sound pressure level

The D-60 has been designed as a high-performance in-wall speaker that can be used for both front channels with additional woofers and for surround channels. It offers the highest power handling (200 W, IEC), sensitivity (92 dB 2.83 V/1 m), and achievable sound pressure level (112 dB) in the Discreet series. The D-60 covers frequencies from 22 kHz down to 80 Hz (-3 dB) and is intended for use with additional woofers for LFE and bass, such as the Lyngdorf BW-20. The D-60 is the ideal choice for high-performance home cinemas and larger rooms, as well as for supplementing the excellent Lyngdorf LS-1000 line-source speakers with surround speakers of a similar performance level.

Powerful soft-dome tweeter and new mid-range driver

Compared to the D-500 in-wall speaker, the D-60 is equipped with a more powerful soft-dome tweeter that features a much stronger magnet. The two 18 cm/7-inch aluminum mid-range drivers are equipped with vented magnets and vented die-cast baskets, while the inverted surround allows for a flat speaker front and space-saving cabinet depth. With the D-60, you no longer have to choose between high performance and a discreet physical presence.
