The Matrix Audio MA-1 is an uncompromisingly engineered high-end stereo power amplifier that combines exceptional power reserves with the highest level of sonic precision. With 2 × 250 watts at 8 ohms and 2 × 450 watts at 4 ohms, it delivers effortless control even over power-hungry speakers. High-Quality Class AB Technology with Dual-Mono Design

At the heart of the MA-1 is a fully discrete Class AB power stage with ten high-performance ON Semiconductor output transistors per channel. The generously dimensioned push-pull circuit operates with a high quiescent current and reduces distortion to a minimum. The result is an exceptionally controlled, natural, and transparent sound with outstanding spatial imaging and impressive detail.

Flexible Operating Modes for Every High-End System

The MA-1 adapts to a wide variety of system setups. In addition to classic stereo operation, it supports mono mode as well as bridged operation (BTL). When two MA-1 units are combined, up to 500 watts at 8 ohms or 900 watts at 4 ohms are available—ideal for particularly demanding speakers or uncompromising mono configurations.

Powerful Dual-Mono Power Supply for Maximum Dynamics

A powerful power supply is the foundation of any high-quality power amplifier. That is why Matrix Audio relies on two separate toroidal transformers with a total output of 1,250 VA, which supply the left and right channels independently. Complemented by a total of 196,000 µF of filter capacitance, the MA-1 offers enormous energy reserves for maximum impulse fidelity, exceptional dynamics, and absolute control over connected speakers at all times.

Balanced and Unbalanced Inputs

For maximum flexibility, the MA-1 features both balanced XLR inputs and unbalanced RCA connections. In addition, two selectable gain stages (+24 dB / +30 dB) are available, allowing the amplifier to be optimally matched to various preamplifiers and hi-fi systems.

Intelligent Cooling System for Sustained High Performance

To ensure the amplifier can reliably deliver its immense output power over the long term, intelligent temperature management continuously monitors all critical components. An exceptionally quiet, temperature-controlled fan is only activated when necessary, providing reliable cooling without compromising the listening experience. The sophisticated air channel system also protects the electronics from dust and ensures long-term operational reliability.

High-Quality Craftsmanship and Convenient System Integration

The massive CNC-machined aluminum chassis with a resonance-optimized H-structure reliably protects the sensitive electronics from vibrations as well as electromagnetic interference (EMI/RFI). Thanks to integrated 12-volt trigger inputs and outputs, the MA-1 can be conveniently integrated into complex hi-fi systems and automatically switched on and off in conjunction with other components.
