Reference DAC with Dual-Mono AKM Flagship Converters

Inside are two AK4191EQ digital processors and two AK4499EXEQ DACs from Asahi Kasei Microdevices (AKM). The consistent dual-mono architecture with VELVET SOUND™ technology completely separates digital and analog signal processing, ensuring exceptionally precise, natural, and spatial music reproduction.

Hi-Res Audio up to 32-bit / 768 kHz, DSD512, and MQA

The MS-1 supports high-resolution PCM files up to 32-bit / 768 kHz, native DSD512, and full MQA decoding. This ensures that even studio master recordings are reproduced with the highest precision and maximum detail.

The MS-1 can be used both as a high-quality DAC with a fixed output level and as a full-fledged preamplifier with adjustable volume. Active speakers or power amplifiers can be connected directly, eliminating the need for additional components.

High-quality phono preamplifier for MM and MC cartridges

Vinyl enthusiasts benefit from an integrated phono preamplifier that supports both moving magnet and moving coil systems, reproducing records with impressive detail.

DSP upsampling and DSD conversion

The integrated DSP enables high-quality upsampling as well as real-time conversion from PCM to DSD. This creates a particularly natural and pleasant sound characteristic with high detail resolution.

Audiophile network architecture

In addition to Gigabit Ethernet, the MS-1 features an SFP fiber optic port for galvanic isolation from the network. This effectively reduces high-frequency interference and enables exceptionally clean signal transmission.

External Master Clock

An external reference clock can be connected via the integrated 10 MHz BNC input. This minimizes jitter and improves the precision of digital signal processing.

Powerful linear power supply

Two specially developed toroidal transformers and high-quality Mundorf MLytic® AG capacitors power the digital and analog sections independently, ensuring maximum dynamics and an exceptionally stable power supply.

Music server with integrated SSD expansion

The M.2 2280 NVMe slot allows the MS-1 to be expanded into a powerful music server. Music files can be stored directly on an SSD and managed with ease.

CD ripping and archiving

With an external USB CD drive, CDs can be played directly or archived losslessly as FLAC or WAV files to an SSD, USB storage, or NAS.

Convenient operation

Control is achieved either via the high-resolution touchscreen, the included remote control, or the free MA Remote App for iOS and Android.

High-resolution color display with VU meters

The large touchscreen clearly displays album art, track information, and system settings. Animated VU meters also give the device an elegant, audiophile look.
