The Matrix Audio NA-1 has been developed for demanding audiophiles who expect uncompromising sound quality and maximum power reserves. With up to 18 watts of output power at the balanced output and 7 watts unbalanced, the NA-1 effortlessly drives even power-hungry high-end headphones. The result is impressive dynamics, absolute control across the entire frequency range, and exceptionally natural music reproduction – even at the highest volumes.

Fully balanced pure Class-A circuitry

At the heart of the NA-1 is a fully discrete pure Class-A amplifier architecture with four independent amplifier modules. The consistently balanced signal path minimizes distortion and effectively suppresses interference. This creates an exceptionally transparent, detailed, and musical sound with impressive spaciousness and silky-smooth highs.

Powerful preamplifier for high-end systems

In addition to its reference headphone amplification, the NA-1 also functions as a high-quality analog preamplifier. The separate preamp section with 60-volt operating voltage offers enormous voltage reserves and delivers a powerful, dynamic signal for power amplifiers or active speakers. Through balanced XLR and unbalanced RCA outputs, the NA-1 integrates seamlessly into high-end hi-fi systems.

Maximum flexibility for every audio source

The NA-1 offers versatile connection options for a wide range of analog components. A balanced XLR input and two RCA inputs are available, allowing multiple audio sources to be connected simultaneously. For headphones, a 4-pin XLR output, a 4.4mm Pentaconn connector, and a classic 6.35mm jack socket are available.

Independent gain settings for perfect adjustment

Both the headphone amplifier and the preamp section feature two separately switchable gain stages. This allows the NA-1 to be optimally adjusted to sensitive in-ear monitors, powerful magnetostats, or various power amplifiers, delivering maximum dynamics at all times with minimal noise floor.

Analog volume control with motorized ALPS potentiometer

For lossless volume control, Matrix Audio relies on a high-quality, motorized ALPS RK27 potentiometer. The volume can be conveniently controlled via the included remote control, while the massive aluminum knob moves automatically. The result is perfect channel matching and consistently high sound quality across the entire control range.

High-quality power supply and intelligent circuit architecture

A potted 80-watt toroidal transformer and a generously dimensioned capacitor bank with 39,000 µF ensure an exceptionally stable and low-noise power supply. In addition, the vertical circuit design consistently separates the power supply from the amplifier sections, thereby minimizing interference and achieving optimal thermal stability.

Resonance-optimized aluminum housing

The precision-machined CNC aluminum housing of the Matrix Audio N-series reliably protects the sensitive electronics from electromagnetic interference and mechanical resonances. The concept is complemented by the specially developed MA-DAMPER PRO anti-vibration feet, which effectively absorb vibrations and provide a mechanically stable foundation.
