The Matrix Audio SS-1 Pro has been specially developed for demanding music lovers who want to get the most out of their network streaming. Unlike conventional IT network switches, it specifically optimizes the data flow for digital audio applications. Thanks to elaborate clock processing, a high-quality power supply, and consistent interference suppression, the SS-1 Pro creates the ideal foundation for even more precise, stable, and sonically compelling music playback.

External 10 MHz clock input for maximum timing precision

The integrated 10 MHz reference clock input enables synchronization with an external master clock, such as the Matrix Audio SC-1. Together with the integrated femto clock and a high-precision RF synthesizer (DPLL), timing errors (jitter) are reduced to a minimum. The result is exceptionally precise data transmission with improved spatiality, detail resolution, and sonic tranquility.

Audiophile linear power supply with extremely low noise

A specially developed, fully linear power supply provides all circuit areas of the SS-1 Pro with particularly clean energy. A high-quality O-core toroidal transformer, fast Schottky diodes, generously dimensioned filter capacitors, and six ultra-low-noise LDO regulators effectively minimize interference. An additional grounding terminal on the rear allows for the targeted discharge of interference potentials if required.

2.5 Gigabit network with eight fully shielded RJ45 ports

The SS-1 Pro features eight individually shielded RJ45 connectors that have been specifically designed for maximum signal quality. Each port has its own metal-shielded 10-gigabit network transformer for the effective suppression of high-frequency interference. The powerful architecture supports data rates of up to 2.5 Gbps and ensures particularly stable data transmission.

Two dedicated 100 Mbps audio ports

Two specially optimized 100 Mbps ports are available for network streamers and audio players. By deliberately reducing the bandwidth, unnecessary network activity is minimized, enabling particularly clean data transmission for digital audio devices.

Two galvanically isolated SFP+ ports for fiber optics

The two 10 Gbps SFP/SFP+ connectors enable optical network connection via fiber optics. This reliably keeps ground loops and high-frequency interference away from the audio network. The result is fully galvanically isolated signal transmission for particularly interference-free high-end streaming.

Optimized for high-end streaming systems

The SS-1 Pro harmonizes perfectly with streamers, DACs, and music servers from Matrix Audio as well as other high-quality network audio devices. In combination with an external master clock, it creates a particularly precise and stable digital signal transmission that unlocks the full potential of modern high-end components.

Switchable status LEDs

For undisturbed music enjoyment, all status indicators of the network ports can be conveniently deactivated via a switch on the rear of the device – ideal for darkened listening rooms and living areas.

Silent cooling concept

The SS-1 Pro operates completely fanless and is therefore absolutely silent. Large-dimensioned heat sinks ensure reliable heat dissipation and allow for permanently stable operation without annoying fan noise.

Solid CNC aluminum housing

The high-quality, precision-milled aluminum housing reliably protects the sensitive electronics from electromagnetic (EMI) and high-frequency (RFI) interference. The reinforced steel base also increases mechanical stability, while the high-quality device feet can be converted to a three-point setup if required. The elegant design integrates seamlessly into the Matrix Audio product family and underscores the uncompromising high-end standard of the SS-1 Pro.
