The Ortofon MC Verismo Heritage is a tribute to the musical style of the same name from Italian opera: heightened realism and sweeping melodies made composers of this era, such as Giacomo Puccini, immortal. The Verismo aspires to this as a state-of-the-art cartridge in the Ortofon Exclusive Series, embodying the entire experience of Ortofon's developers. It offers a precise and punchy reproduction with extreme dynamics.

Noble materials for a magnificent sound experience

The Ortofon MC Verismo demonstrates what is technically possible today in the field of analog music reproduction. The housing is a logical further development of the revolutionary design of the successful MC A 90 and MC A 95 models and is manufactured using Ortofon's proprietary SLM (Selective Laser Melting) technology. In this additive process, tiny titanium particles are applied layer by layer and fused together by laser. The result is a perfectly crafted housing with superior damping properties. The cantilever is made of pure diamond and is firmly connected to the Ortofon Replicant 100 stylus. The tracking performance made possible by this is far superior to other systems in terms of speed and transparency.

Drive with higher efficiency

The drive system of the MC Verismo is particularly light and compact. It is based on a very powerful yet compact and therefore lightweight neodymium magnet, which in turn means a lightweight generator. The coils are made of Ortofon's Aucurum material, an oxygen-free and gold-plated 6NX copper. Thanks to this combination of low mass and very high rigidity, the system can follow the deflections of the stylus quickly and accurately.

Drastically better dynamics, resolution and wealth of detail

The newly developed armature of the MC Verismo consists of a less magnetic metal alloy that contributes to the MC Verismo's high dynamic range. Inside the magnet is the Ortofon-developed Field Stabilizing Element (FSE) for a stable magnetic field that is independent of the movements of the armature. The result is a drastic increase in dynamic range and spatial imaging. One of the most important features of the MC Verismo is the Ortofon-patented Wide Range Damping system (WRD), in which a tiny platinum disc is sandwiched between two different rubber damping elements. Superior tracking performance with perfect damping over the entire frequency range is a direct result, and distortion and resonances play virtually no role anymore. Finally, a newly developed rubber compound is used in the suspension system of the MC Verismo, which further strengthens the damping effect and improves the overall performance of the cartridge.

Handcrafted

The assembly of all components of the MC Verismo is carried out with elaborate manual work. Even the tiny coils are wound by hand. A process that requires not only special training, but above all many years of experience. This is the only way to ensure that every system guarantees a truly extraordinary musical experience.
