The Ortofon MC Xpression Heritage is no ordinary cartridge – as its highly distinctive appearance already suggests. Its technology is "different," too. The integrated headshell with SME connector of the Ortofon MC Xpression Heritage is manufactured using the Selective Laser Melting process. In this process, a powdered material is applied in layers of just a few nanometers and fused layer by layer with a laser. This allows for the creation of cavities within workpieces, such as cable channels, that could not be achieved through subsequent drilling or milling. Its homogeneity and specific density are similar to those of the base material. The resulting workpiece (the cartridge housing) is very resistant to vibration, which is conducive to controlled reproduction across the entire frequency range.

The SME bayonet mount eliminates the time-consuming adjustment of the cartridge on the headshell that is typical for cartridges with half-inch mounting. The Ortofon MC Xpression Heritage thus combines the simple installation of an SPU cartridge with the technical features and sonic quality of an Ortofon MC Windfeld Ti Heritage or an Ortofon MC A95 Heritage.

IMPORTANT! The cartridge can only be attached to tonearms that feature an SME bayonet mount, such as the Ortofon TA-110 or the TA-210.
