Melco's N5-H50 is based on the flagship N1-S38 introduced in March 2023 and will be unveiled at High End Munich 2023.
The new N5-H50 benefits in many ways from the Melco flagship, including its fundamentally new design, innovative platform, chassis, and housing. And above all, from the completely new motherboard developed for the top model.
The N5-H50's precision-engineered, two-tone metal housing follows the industrial design DNA of the N1-S38. It consists of an extremely stable chassis construction, centered on a robust 3 mm thick stainless steel base plate to minimize unwanted vibrations. This is rounded off by hidden under-lighting that changes color depending on the machine's status.

The main concession made to ease the buyer's credit card is the omission of the flagship's SSD drive in favor of an HDD drive, as well as "simplified functions."
Nevertheless, Melco's N5-H50 is equipped with an extremely high-quality low-jitter system clock from NDK,
industrial-grade RJ45 connectors for the LAN port and Melco's dedicated PLAYER port, as well as SFP (Small Form Factor Pluggable) fiber connectors. These allow for a noise-
isolating optical connection with compatible SFP-enabled devices, including Melco's S100/2 and S10 data switches.
The USB ports on the back are also equipped with industrial-grade Amphenol connectors. Furthermore, there is a convenient USB socket on the front panel, illuminated controls with a positive click, and an easy-to-read OLED display.

Features USB 2.0 for audiophile DACs as well as USB 3.0
Both USB 2.0 for audiophile DACs and USB 3.0 for higher-speed data transfer are available for formatting: e.g., for CD importing with Melco's special D100 drive/ripper. Alternatively, additional storage can also be connected.
Power is supplied via an EMI-filtered IEC inlet, which promises a true system reference, and through multi-stage linear regulation following a highly specialized toroidal transformer in a dedicated vibration-damped mount.
