Melco Audio, the Japanese experts in digital music, are pleased to announce the launch of the S1 audio network switch.

The S1 has been specially developed for audiophiles who have the highest demands for connectivity and data switching for digital audio systems. The new switch offers a variety of connection and setup options, making it a highly flexible network switch that provides a first-class digital audio network platform.

The Melco S1 thus sets new standards for data switches in audio systems and follows Melco's goal of creating the finest digital audio platform.

Designed for the best possible audio performance

With new, specially developed electronic components, this managed switch is designed to ensure the best possible audio performance, regardless of the network connection or architecture.

The Melco S1 features four SFP+ inputs and seven RJ45 inputs, offering user-friendly link speed configuration on the front panel. It supports both optical SFP+ and copper SFP+ direct attach (e.g., Melco C1) as well as all standard RJ45 connections.

A special feature of the Melco S1 is the ability to fine-tune each data export in real-time via the front panel for link speed. The buttons on the front reflect the layout of the rear panel, and each port has its own button for selecting the link speed. This is indicated by color-coded feedback from the button illumination.

These configuration options allow the user to adapt each individual port to the respective environment and hardware. Unused ports can be switched to "OFF," which increases the processing power of the active ports to optimize sound quality.

Link speed selection:

The Melco S1 offers the user the unique ability to fine-tune the link speed of each data port directly via the front panel in real-time. The buttons on the front reflect the layout of the rear panel, with each port having an individual button for link speed selection, which is confirmed by color-coded feedback from the button illumination. In this way, the user can configure the status of each port for the environment and the hardware to which it is connected. Furthermore, any unused port can be set to OFF.

The link/act LEDs on the rear panel can be deactivated with the button on the rear.

External clock input

Professional Neutrik RJ45 connectors ensure reliable connectivity, and the internal electronics are based on dedicated, audio-optimized technology with a high-quality internal NDK clock and low-noise linear power supply with a capacitor bank, as used in the Melco N1 Music Library.
