The slot-in drive eliminates the need for a tray mechanism, which increases ease of use. Naturally, all parts that come into contact with the surface of the CD feature multiple surface treatments. The drive's loading time is among the fastest on the market.

The M2sCD uses a 24-bit digital-to-analog converter with 8x oversampling. This enables the M2sCD to reproduce even the most complex recordings with musical fidelity. Alongside high-quality gold-plated RCA output jacks, the M2sCD also features one coaxial (RCA) and one optical (Toslink) digital output.

As is customary with MUSICAL FIDELITY, while the measured values are not an end in themselves, they are nonetheless absolutely outstanding. The channel separation of a staggering 105 dB is far above the dynamic range theoretically conceivable for CD, thus ensuring an absolutely stable and holographic presentation of the musical performance.

Distortion levels at 0.003% are at the limit of measurability, just like the signal-to-noise ratio at a fantastic 117 dB. Note that for loudspeakers, distortion of 1% on average and 3% for analog cartridges is considered acceptable.

The analog output stage is designed to effortlessly drive even longer cable runs thanks to its low output impedance and stable voltage. The detachable power connection on the unit also makes the M2sCD flexible in this respect, whether for longer connections or for experiments with specialized power cables.
