The new M6si integrated amplifier is much more than just an upgraded predecessor model. It features numerous additional inputs and completely new internals, which have significantly improved both technology and sound quality. Thanks to its performance capabilities, it operates effortlessly and remains unimpressed even by low impedances; its stability reserves are so large that it can drive virtually any loudspeaker. All this forms the basis for what is the main goal of the M6si: to deliver fantastic-sounding music.

Due to its sophisticated preamplifier/power amplifier configuration, it produces large, stable soundstages with an effortless, clear, and very fine resolution. Its bass response possesses immense impact and a punch with high-speed attitude. All in all, the M6si offers true high-end sound quality with a wide selection of useful inputs – a compact, reliable package at a fair price. In the newly presented limited chrome edition, it wears its exquisite interior on the outside as well.

The trade magazine stereoplay summarized: "High-quality, ultra-solid integrated amplifier – powerful and very versatile in terms of connectivity with a phono stage and USB input. Colorful, bass-heavy, stringent, yet vibrant sound – even via phono and USB." And the trade magazine Fidelity wrote: "A winning lottery ticket in the Hi-Fi world!"

We actually felt that its predecessor, the legendary M6i, was spot on as a package of size, power, and price. However, what was needed was an expansion with additional input options and – if at all possible – an all-round improvement in technical and thus sonic performance.

The now consistent use of SMD technology in the circuit board layout significantly reduces the size of the board and allows the developer much greater flexibility in circuit design. Consequently, we designed the M6si as a preamplifier with two completely separate and independent monoblock power amplifiers. We are therefore dealing with a true preamplifier with a separately regulated power supply plus discrete monoblock power amplifiers that merely share one chassis. This drastic change from its predecessor is the reason for the significant improvement in sound.

Because of its configuration of a preamp with two monoblock power amplifiers, both channels work almost completely independently of each other – something you would expect from a preamplifier with separate power amplifiers, but not from a normal integrated amplifier. The M6si is simply far above average in every respect.

Distortion is very low at less than 0.005%. Even more telling: high-frequency distortion (HF distortion) is incredibly low, at about 0.006% at 10 kHz and an astonishing 0.007% at 20 kHz. As frequency increases, the vast majority of amplifiers suffer from a massive rise in distortion. We at MUSICAL FIDELITY believe that distortion levels in the high-frequency range should not be higher than those in the low-frequency range (LF distortion). This is of great importance for sound quality. The channel separation of the M6si is remarkable and particularly consistent. In most amplifiers, both integrated designs and those with separate preamps, crosstalk deteriorates dramatically with increasing frequency. The crosstalk of the M6si, on the other hand, is excellent and still better than 82dB even at 20 kHz.
The integrated phono stage is also outstanding. It has very precise RIAA equalization that deviates by just ±0.5 dB from 20 Hz to 20 kHz. It maintains its precision up to 50 kHz. The signal-to-noise ratio is an excellent 84 dB.

The asynchronous 24-bit / 96 kHz USB input connects to a PC, notebook, or Mac, enabling very high-quality playback of modern media with the shortest and most optimally aligned signal paths. Simply connect the USB cable to the computer and you can enjoy HD audio for videos, music, and streaming. Jitter and noise are incredibly low and distortion is practically non-existent. The USB input of the M6si is capable of extracting the finest details from the computer source.
The elegant chassis is ultra-solid and crafted with the highest precision. The luxurious chrome plating extends not only to the front of the unit but also to all control elements and the top cover.

The massive heat sinks, through their special horizontal design, allow the power amplifier to operate under optimal temperature conditions at all times.
